Coast To Coast by Post: An Exploration in Sculpture

Coast To Coast by Post: An Exploration in Sculpture is an exhibition held in the University of Wyoming Visual Arts Main Gallery from January 25 -March 31, 2013.  There are 43 featured artists that were invited to create a post that could be shipped in a flat rate post office box.  This exhibition was curated by Ashley Hope Carlisle and David Jones. Wednesday brought me and my friend John on a 12 hr round trip to Provo to go see our friends at Pacific States for coke for UW.
The drive was beautiful yet smoking from the fires out here.
Once in Utah, however, fall was screaming all over the hills with the changing of the leaves on the maple and aspen trees.

Pacific States makes me proud to be an American.
They are producing over 300,000 tons of metal a week and they take such pride in everything they make.
Its inspiring and always a joy to visit them.

This is one of their ladles. Not sure we will ever get to this scale but its impressive!

Found this picture today and thought it was so thoughtful.  tranquil and meditative.
This is a good thing as equipment and materials continue to shift and change within our UW studios.
