This piece is my small interpretation of New Delhi. I want to overwhelm the viewer and have them experience the sights and smells I came across while abroad by paying attention to small detail and excess within the space. This piece pays homage to the chaos and excitement of India that was so contrasting to my everyday life here in the states.
I love the busy look and chaos that is happening. It looks loud and I wonder if there are street noises added?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it does not have an audio to it. It mostly appeals to the look of chaos and also has a very strong smell of lavender that kind of hits you in the face when you look into the piece. Sound would be a great feature to add, and I will definitely think about that as an option for furthering this piece. Thanks for the input!
DeleteI really enjoy this piece. I am a photographer so I relate this the use of a tilt shift photograph. I would of loved to see an artist statement on the location of the setting. I love how chaotic it is all around. From the colors to the trash on the ground.
ReplyDeleteThanks! My statement will be hopefully be up here soon, my apologies. But the point of the piece was to give the audience a small snippet of one my experiences while in New Delhi. The piece is actually inside a small tea box, which you can see the back of in the top picture. So the location was a nod to the copious amounts of tea we drank while there. But also how that ritual took the edge off some of the chaotic scenes we encountered, like the scene made within the box.
