Elizabeth Mendoza

My small world installation investigates a natural environment free of fear. Many times humans cannot explore an aspect of life due to physical or mental restrictions. I am completely fascinated with the way honey bees live however I am incredibly allergic to their venom.   Through its doorway, the audience can see the inside of a hive, find peace in the natural rhythms of shape there, and smell the thick warm yellow beeswax.

  1. I love this idea of the honey comb. Getting to look into their little world and its the little world of bees, that keep our big world going. I love how bees have such and instinctive craftsmanship, its just fascinating. This is a really cool concept and I hope you continue to work with it. An artist to look at , just in case you haven't heard of them, is Aganetha Dyck. Check her stuff out its cool.
