My small world
installation investigates a natural environment
free of fear. Many times humans cannot explore an aspect of life due to
physical or mental restrictions. I am completely fascinated with
the way honey bees live however I am incredibly allergic to their venom. Through its doorway, the
audience can see the inside of a hive, find
peace in the natural rhythms of shape there, and smell the thick warm
yellow beeswax.

This piece is my small interpretation of New Delhi. I want to overwhelm the viewer and have them experience the sights and smells I came across while abroad by paying attention to small detail and excess within the space. This piece pays homage to the chaos and excitement of India that was so contrasting to my everyday life here in the states.

All of these pieces required a good amount of patience and perseverance in the making. I feel at times I cannot teach this but have to have faith the student will find their way to it. I still find myself a student when I see works like :
Wim Delvoye
This reminds me of a student named Jasmine who was obsessed with ears.
Sarah Raulerson-love her! Makes art making look natural.
